A KIRKLEES charity celebrated National Volunteer Week by holding an information fair.
The Volunteering Kirklees organisation held the event at Huddersfield Methodist Mission and at 15 Lord Street.
The event had two aims - one to mark Volunteer Week and the second to show people the options and benefits of volunteering.
Twenty-five organisations, including the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, the police and Mencap, had stalls at the Mission.
Other groups, such as the Samaritans, gave talks about volunteering.
There were also demonstrations including batik art and massage.
Sharron Wilkinson, of Volunteering Kirklees, said: "This is a really exciting time for volunteering. We wanted to show people how it can change their lives, by learning new skills and helping people.
"A lot of people don't volunteer because they haven't been asked. So we wanted to show people the sheer volume of organisations that need help," she added.
