A Motorbike business in Huddersfield has been given an award for its commitment to disabled riders.

DC Motorcycles on Alder Street, Hillhouse, received the Best Engineering award from the National Association for Bikers with a Disability (NABD).

The company has given free advice to the NABD on modifications and devices to help disabled riders.

DC Motorcycles, run by Dick Cartwright, has also given free advice on repairs as well as prizes for the charity’s fundraisers.

NABD vice-president, Graham Swain, said: “The award has previously gone to large companies, but DC is the first small organisation to win it.”
