MUSIC store HMV is coming to Huddersfield.
The retailer, which sells music CDs, DVDs and video games, is set to open a 4,500sq ft store at the Kingsgate shopping centre in June.
London-based HMV is in talks with Kingsgate's owners to take a vacant unit at the £50m centre.
And it has begun recruiting for about 12 staff, including full and part-time sales assistants, security officers and people to work in the stockroom and cash office.
A spokeswoman for the company said: "The store manager and assistant manager will be internal appointments, but we expect to recruit the rest of the staff locally.
"The opening date will depend on completing the deal as expected and the time it takes to fit out the store, but we hope to open in the first week of June."
The store is one of 20 HMV expects to open during its next financial year, which begins in May.
HMV - well known for more than a century for its dog-and-trumpet trademark - has 160 stores in the UK and another 200 in the USA and Canada, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Germany and Ireland.
