A TEENAGE actress who juggled a hectic filming schedule with schoolwork was today rewarded with three A*s and eight A grade GCSEs.

Holly Grainger, 16, from East Didsbury, Manchester, is a regular face on television screens with roles in the Slaithwaite-based Where The Heart Is, Dalziel and Pascoe and Casualty.

The starlet managed to combine an exhausting filming routine, which would take her out of school for up to three days a week, with keeping on top of her homework.

She said: "It can be difficult to combine the two things but in a lot of ways I find it easier to do the school work in between filming.

"We have a tutor who stays with us on set and is always there if you need to ask questions."

The Parrs Wood Technology College pupil started her career at the tender age of five and has since worked alongside a host of stars including Michelle Collins.

She plans to stay on at college and study biology, psychology and Spanish at A-level.
