A MEETING to hear concerns about plans to shut local post offices will take place in Holmfirth.

The Post Office has published its proposals for planned closures of post offices within the Holme Valley and consultation on the proposals closes on September 22.

It is proposed to close two local post offices: Upper Holme Valley at Woodhead Road, Hinchliffe Mill and Wooldale, located in Wooldale Cooperative Society

Now Holme Valley Parish Council has organised a public meeting to be held at Holmfirth Methodist Church on September 8 at 7.30pm.

A spokesman said: “This will allow members of the public to be able to pass on their views regarding these planned closures and to the local MP who will be attending the meeting.

“ It will also help the Parish Council to formulate its own submission to be made to Post Office Ltd.

“Come along and have your say!”
