YOUNG people have been invited to enter a film competition.

Organisers of the Holmfirth Film Festival – which takes next month – are offering prizes of equipment worth £200 to the winners.

Festival chairman Stephen Dorril said: “We have some real film talent in the schools and I am looking forward to seeing what they come up with.

“If you have a view of your world, whether it is a comedy, a drama or experimental – we would like to see it.”

The films will be showcased at the Holmfirth Picturedrome on Saturday, May 26 at the end of the week-long festival.

The short films should be a maximum of 10 minutes.

The deadline for entries is Friday, May 4.
