Traffic is snarled up in Holmfirth town centre after a lorry overturned on the Woodhead Pass earlier this afternoon.

The exposed A628 was blocked after a lorry was blown onto its side at around 3.30pm.

Pictures appear to show the lorry’s tailer on its side, leaving the stricken vehicle with its rear wheels in the air.

The road is now open again but traffic has left Holmfirth badly congested.

There are reports that New Mill Road and Dunford Road are nose-to-tail. Glossop at the other side was also badly affected.
