turbocharger technology and a co-founder of one of Huddersfield’s leading engineering firms has died, aged 91.

Paul Croset founded Holset Engineering Ltd with Brian Holmes in 1952.

Under their guidance, the Turnbridge-based firm became a global leader in turbocharger technology.

In 1973, diesel engine manufacturer Cummins bought the firm.

Mr Croset, who received the OBE for services to industry, started his career at Crossley Premier Gas and Oil Engine Co while a student at Nottingham University.

He served with the Royal Engineers from 1939 to 1946.

He joined industrial air blowers firm WC Holmes, which led to the formation of Holset Engineering Ltd, where he was active until his retirement in 1998.

Latterly, he lived near Harrogate.
