PLANNERS have rejected a bid to bring a listed building back to life.

Developers wanted to create five flats at Spring Lodge, Woodthorpe Terrace, Longroyd Bridge.

Up to eight homes were proposed for the grounds.

But Kirklees councillors rejected the scheme because of worries about extra traffic.

Seventeen people living near the site told the council they opposed the plans.

Spring Lodge is a Grade 2 listed building and also on the council's "at risk" register.
