A driver who was seriously injured in a road crash in Honley on Saturday has lost his fight for life.

Police confirmed the 28-year-old male driver died in Leeds General Infirmary this morning following the single-vehicle crash in Station Road on Saturday.

The collision occurred at 3.15pm close to Honley High School, and closed the route for several hours.

The man, who has not been named, was flown by the Yorkshire Air Ambulance to Leeds General Infirmary.

Police closed Northgate to allow the Yorkshire Air Ambulance to land and to complete their investigation.

The exact circumstances of the accident have not been revealed by police.
