A SPECIAL pampering day for women affected by life- threatening illnesses is being held at Kirkwood Hospice tomorrow.

The day care team will be offering taster sessions between 10am and 3pm of the services available at the hospice.

They include complementary therapies, such as reiki and aromatherapy.

There will also be a chance to take part in art sessions, including silk painting and oil.

The event will mark International Women's Week.

Daycare sister Jean Lucas said: "The taster sessions will help women who are facing life-threatening illnesses.

"I hope they will help to take away some of the fear that some people associate with the word hospice."

The hospice also offers regular drop-in sessions between 10am and 3am every Friday for people affected by life-threatening illnesses. These include carers, relatives or friends and all services are free.
