PEOPLE living in Calderdale and Huddersfield are being asked to help decide health priorities for their local hospitals.

Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust is asking the public and staff to say what they think the Trust should be focusing on during the next year.

The survey is part of the Trust’s Quality Accounts.

The choices selected will become the focus for the year and the performance in each of the areas will be measured with a full end-of-year report showing the progress made and where more work is needed.

Health trusts claim that in the past year, they have continued to reduce infections, have halved the number of pressure ulcers and have introduced dementia champions to improve care in this area for elderly patients.

The choices this year include areas such infection control, stroke care and managing safe discharges from hospitals.

Trust Chairman Andrew Haigh, said: “It is important our priorities reflect what are the priorities and concerns of our patients, staff and local communities and we welcome feedback on this.

“It is very important as we are at the point of setting our priorities for the coming year – although delivering safe, quality care will continue to be our aim.”
