A WOMAN had to be given oxygen for shock after a suntanning booth caught fire.

Smoke was spotted in the ceiling at the booth above Noble's Amusements at New Street, Huddersfield town centre, at 7.10 last night.

A faulty fluorescent light fitting had caught fire.

Molten plastic dripped on to the suntanning machine below and that started to burn.

The 7ft by 5ft booth was smoke-damaged.

A staff member was shocked by the trauma and needed oxygen at the scene.

She did not need to go to hospital.
