ONE of Huddersfield's landmark hotels was hit by a fire scare early today.

Firefighters from Huddersfield and Slaithwaite were sent to the imposing hotel in St George's Square next to the town's railway station just before 8.40am today.

An electrical fault is thought to have sparked a fire in an ensuite bathroom in one of the hotel's bedrooms.

The people staying in the room were downstairs having breakfast.

No-one was hurt and the hotel was quickly evacuated.
