PLANS for a big housing estate in Denby Dale are set to get the go-ahead.
Jones Homes Northern wants to build 92 two and three-storey houses on land off Cumberworth Lane.
A mixture of two, three and four-bedroomed detached, semi-detached and terraced properties is proposed.
The application will come under discussion at a planning meeting on Thursday.
A report to Kirklees Council's Heavy Woollen Area planning committee says the site is in a good location for affordable housing.
But it says local schools, including Scissett Middle and Shelley High, could feel pressure on their facilities because of the size of the estate.
Planners are expected to approve the application, subject to three requirements.
They want the developers to include affordable housing in their plan; create and maintain a public open space as part of the scheme; and help to provide new facilities for education at Scissett Middle and Shelley High schools.
