EASTER eggs are being collected for disadvantaged and disabled Huddersfield children.
Staff at Highfield Funeral Service are appealing for donations for the children at Birkby Children’s Centre and Orchard View at Mirfield.
Both venues offer respite care.
Highfield is part of the Dignity Caring Funeral Services, who launched the annual Easter egg challenge in 2002.
Funeral manger, Sheila Brodie, said: “Since the scheme started Dignity staff across the country have collected thousands of Easter eggs for children and we would like to continue the tradition and give an egg to as many children as possible in 2011.
“We are asking local people and businesses to support us in reaching our target.
“If you would like to help us make this Easter special for some deserving local children please bring an Easter egg to our funeral home.
“Working at the heart of the community we are delighted to have this opportunity to help local children in this way.”
