PROUD aunt and actress Jodie Whittaker has spoken of her devotion for nephew Harry.

Yesterday was World Down Syndrome day and Harry, who lives in Skelmanthorpe, has the condition.

But he has followed his famous Huddersfield aunt into the acting profession by appearing in Emmerdale as baby Leo.

Jodie said: “As proud aunty to Harry and Mencap ambassador it has been fantastic to be able to help raise awareness for people with learning disabilities.

“All we want is for Harry to grow up in a safe and unprejudiced society where people with Down syndrome or any learning disability is giving the support and care they need.”

Jodie wore odd brightly coloured socks to mark the awareness day as it focused on raising awareness of the visual problems associated with Down syndrome and the impact it has on daily life.
