SHE was shot with a stun gun and bundled into a box by her one-time fiancé Marcin Kasprzak as he attempted to murder her by burying her alive.
But Michelina Lewandowska, 27, escaped her shallow grave in woods near Woodsome Hall Golf Club in Huddersfield by slashing her way free using her engagement ring.
Kasprzak was jailed for life for her kidnap and attempted murder last January.
Now just few weeks after the 27-year-old Polish immigrant failed to overturn his 20-year-sentence and was convicted of plotting to build a bomb, Michelina has spoken for the first time of the horror.
She has revealed she was preparing to go shopping with Kasprzak when he suddenly zapped her with a 300,000-volt Taser gun.
Michelina, who has a four-year-old son with Kasprzak, said she could hear earth being shovelled on top of her as she lay with her wrists and ankles taped in a cardboard box underground.
But the terrified mum miraculously escaped by cutting herself free — using the diamond engagement ring he had given her.
She said: “I heard a spade digging and then the soil falling on top of the box. I thought: ‘This is it. I’m going to die.’
“It was pitch dark and there was hardly any room. I was terrified that I was going to suffocate so I started breathing as shallowly as I could.
“I was straining my ears in the hope of hearing the car drive away so I could start to escape.
“I thought if I got out and he was still there he would attack me with the spade.
“I didn’t hear the car but after a while I knew that I had to get out — whether he was still there or not.
“All sorts of things were going through my mind, but I tried to keep calm.
“The thing that saved me was thinking of my little boy, Jakub. If I died I would never see him again and he would be left without his mother.
“The only sharp thing I had on me was my engagement ring, so I used that to cut the tape around my wrists.
“I then started cutting the cardboard with it. I kept cutting and slashing at it with the ring until I could get my hand through a hole, pulling and tearing frantically at the cardboard.
“The earth started to fall through the hole — it was in my clothes and my hair and all over my face, it was horrible.

“I started screaming, ‘Help! God save me! Please help!’ in the hope that someone might hear me.
“I really thought I was not going to make it, that no one would find me and I was going to die in this place.
“I started kicking at the cardboard. I was clawing at it and digging with the ring and kicking it.
“I felt weak but I kept going and once I had a hole in the box I pushed up against the earth and finally pushed my head out. It was dark but I could see the trees and leaves and sky.
“I gasped and took in huge gulps of air. I was covered in soil. I was so tired, I had no strength left but I knew I had to get out.
“I managed to force my arms out and it was then that I finally knew I was going to make it.”
Exhausted Michelina staggered from the woods to a road where she flagged down a passing motorist who called police.
Officers arrived within 15 minutes and took her back to the woodland spot off Woodsome Road, where they discovered the grave and cardboard coffin.
Kasprzak was arrested shortly afterwards and in January this year was sentenced to 20 years in prison after being convicted of attempted murder and kidnap.
His accomplice Patryk Borys, 17, was cleared of attempted murder but was sent to a young offenders institution for 4½ years for kidnap.
Michelina met Kasprzak in 2005 in their native Poland.
They came to England to find work in 2006 and moved in with his parents where they all shared a home in Fenay Bridge.
They got engaged and Jakub was born in April 2008 but during the pregnancy their relationship deteriorated and the engagement was called off.
However, they remained a couple and Michelina kept wearing the ring her boyfriend had given her.
The relationship continued to go downhill, so she was surprised when one Saturday in May 2011 Kasprzak suggested they go shopping together.
His mother had taken Jakub out for the day so Michelina went to get ready.
As she was putting on her make-up she heard Kasprzak talking to Borys. She came out of the bathroom to find them waiting.
With a chilling smile, Kasprzak told her he had something to show her — and then pulled the Taser from his pocket.
Michelina said: “He said he was going to demonstrate how it worked and shoved it against my neck.
“I felt this massive electric shock and an agonising pain shot through me. He dragged me to the floor and kept putting the Taser on to my neck.
“I was screaming for him to stop but he was too strong for me. He pushed me on to the floor and put his knee on my chest to stop me getting up.”
Michelina, at 5ft 5ins and 9½ stone, was no match for 6ft, 16-stone Kasprzak.
The brute then ordered Borys to get a roll of parcel tape. They bound her wrists and ankles and left her slumped in the hallway.
Two hours later Kasprzak reappeared and dragged Michelina to the kitchen. He put her in the box and taped shut the lid.
She said: “At first I thought it was a joke and they were just having fun by scaring me. But as the attack went on I knew it was no joke.
“I couldn’t move and I was terrified that I would lose consciousness and wondered whether I would ever wake up again.
“At one stage they talked about a plastic bag and I thought they were going to put it over my head and tape it up so I would suffocate.
“I knew I had to remain conscious to escape. Marcin was saying I was hopeless and he hated me and had done for years.
“Before he taped up my mouth I asked if he was going to kill me, but he just said he was going to take me away somewhere and told me not to be scared.
“I will never forget the look on his face. He was incredibly calm which was even more worrying.
“I was terrified but my neck was in agony and I was tied up and I couldn’t fight him.
“When I was lying in the box I was sure he wanted to kill me. He put the lid down and I heard him taping the box up.
“He took one end and Patryk the other and they put me in the boot of the car. They drove a while and then we stopped and they lifted the box out and dragged me along the ground. It was painful with rocks and stones scraping on my back.”
Michelina was pleased at Kasprzak’s 20-year sentence — but still lives in fear of him, even though she has now been moved to a secret address far from Huddersfield.
She said: “I hate Marcin for what he did. I thought he was going to kill me and I still have nightmares about him and the attack.
“He buried me alive and walked away thinking I would die there cold and alone in that terrible box.
“He is vile and despicable. I will never forgive him for what he did.
“Some nights I dream of him. In one dream he tries to grab my hand so he can pull me towards him and I don’t know whether to give him my hand or not.
“He wanted me dead and planned to kill me in the most horrific way imaginable.
“But I was not going to let him succeed and using my last bit of strength I kicked and clawed my way out of that grave.
“Now he’s the one who is imprisoned and I hope he rots in there.”
