THINK you could make a great film about Huddersfield?

Well, people have been challenged to follows last year’s McDonald’s advert set in Huddersfield and produce their own snapshot of the town.

Huddersfield Creative Arts Network (HCAN) is encouraging budding film-makers in the area to take their video cameras and mobile phones out onto the street for a new creative project.

The advert made by the fast food giant and screened in autumn 2011, followed the journey of a man walking through the town and ending up at the McDonald’s restaurant on Kirkgate. Local film-makers have free rein to shoot whichever Huddersfield streets or landmarks they choose and the initiative is open to all.

The films will be screened publicly from 6.30pm onwards at the Lawrence Batley Theatre in Huddersfield town centre next Tuesday as part of the networking event at the Creative Kirklees Summit which is being held from 12noon to 6pm that day.

To enter, films should be uploaded to YouTube and shared using the Huddersfield Creative Arts Network Facebook page or on Twitter using the hashtag #huddsimlovinit.
