HE was the second Huddersfield heartthrob to wow the ladies on ITV’s Take Me Out.

And folk musician Jack Rutter, of Shepley, proved a huge hit on Saturday night’s show.

And along with Meltham’s Ben Bamforth there was a third Huddersfield representative – Gracie among the girl contestants.

In the ITV1 show, Host Paddy McGuinness tries to help 30 single girls find love. They all have three chances to turn their lights off to indicate they are not interested in the man – “no likey, no lighty”.

Any women left at the end of the three rounds are then selected by the hopeful man.

Should somebody not get any lights remaining, they leave the stage to the tune of Celine Dion’s All By Myself.

And after Jack descended the love lift, all 30 girls decided they ‘likey’ what they saw and left their lights on.

Student Jack said: “It was brilliant, I really enjoyed the experience.

“It was definitely something to tell the grandchildren.

“Although I said I didn’t know why I had chosen Liz at the end, I think I chose her because she seemed lovely, she was very pretty, her answers were good and overall she just appeared like a really nice person.

“My nana told me that she liked my choice too.”

Currently studying countryside management, Newcastle University student Jack came down the love lift to the Morecambe and Wise theme tune Bring Me Sunshine.

After a short video about his love of folk music and a chat with his grandmother who affectionately called him “Jackiekins”, he then performed a banjo duet with the show’s host Paddy McGuinness.

Eventually he chose 19-year-old Welsh student Elizabeth Penny to enjoy a romantic break in the ‘Isle of Fernando´s’.

He said: “My mum suggested I go down the love lift to that song.

“I got involved because one of my friends presents a programme on BBC Radio Four.

“The producer for the programme also works in the casting for Take Me Out and asked if they knew anyone who could do it. I was up for it.”

Jack is in a folk band called Moore, Moss and Rutter with fellow musicians Tom Moore, from Norfolk, and Archie Churchill Moss, from Somerset.

Last year the trio won BBC Radio Two’s Young Folk Award and are currently playing gigs across the country.

Last week personal trainer Ben Bamforth, of Meltham, won a date with Joanna.

He shocked viewers this week, having left his number for the girl he ditched originally, Chelsea.

On Saturday’s show, viewers got to see a sneak peek of his date.

The 21-year-old said: “Joanna and I did get on well, but I think I just got caught up in the moment.

“We haven’t been in any further contact.

“I got absolutely ripped on the ITV2 show for my cheesy chat-up lines, facial expressions and for leaving my number for Chelsea.”

Golcar is also being represented by funny girl Gracie, who is yet to win a date.

A Facebook group, entitled “We love Gracie from Take Me Out” has been set up in her honour.

To see her on next week’s episode tune in to ITV1 on Saturday at 7pm.
