Huddersfield enjoyed the warmest day in weeks yesterday.

But the prediction from weatherman Paul Stevens for the rest of June is for a mixed forecast.

He believes we will see warm spells of sunshine but there could also be cooler days and a number of showers.

Today saw temperatures climb to 19°C, which was very welcome after the cold and wet weeks of May.

But after a warm night tonight, tomorrow should see temperatures fall away again to slightly below normal, and that picture is set to continue over the weekend.

“It may feel humid tonight but by Friday we should be looking at no more than 15 or 16°.

“It will still feel pleasant after the wet and cool weather we had in May but there is no sign yet of any heatwave.

“The rest of June looks pretty much more of the same, dry for much of the time and often warm but always with the chance of a shower.”

Looking further ahead there is better news.

Mr Stevens said: “As we head into July and August there is a good chance of us drawing up hot air from the continent and that could give us temperatures of up to 25°C, which will be very warm but not a heatwave. It may be a very pleasant summer”.
