The are the cream of our local education system.

And today, we reveal the shortlisted nominees for the first-ever Examiner Schools Aawards.

They aim to show all great work that goes on in schools in Kirklees and Calderdale and will also pay tribute to some phenomenal teachers.

The awards are being run in association with Huddersfield teacher recruitment agency Vision for Education and supported by Kirklees College and Huddersfield educational consultancy and children’s social care provider Pivot.

We have been delighted with the number and with the standard of entries for the awards and we are set to reveal the winners on Thursday, July 7, at a celebration lunch and awards ceremony at Kirklees College’s Huddersfield campus.

Claire Darling, Vision for Education branch manager, was delighted with the award nominations.

She said: “It’s been an honour to judge this year’s Examiner Schools Awards, and with so many amazing entries, it’s also been a difficult task.

“We are really looking forward to welcoming everyone to the event, which is set to be a wonderful celebration of all the great work that goes on in our local schools.”.
