A CHARITY group set up in Huddersfield to help people across the world has been scaling the heights.

Local supporters of the Ummah Welfare Trust joined hundreds on a trek up Snowdon in North Wales.

They were helping to raise funds for the Trust, which was set up to provide a rehabilitation centre in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, for disabled people.

Now the Trust has a base in Manchester Road, Huddersfield, which offers practical support and fundraising.

The centre at 190 Manchester Road is collecting household goods, toiletries and toys to distribute to needy families.

Eleven people from Huddersfield joined the Snowdon trek and their efforts will have helped raise several thousands for the Trust.
