HUDDERSFIELD GIANTS star Eorl Crabtree gave his seal of approval to Huddersfield’s newest business venture.
The rugby star opened Twists pasta bar in New Street at the weekend and was joined by the Huddersfield University vice-chancellor Prof Bob Cryan.
The healthy fast food concept was developed by two Huddersfield-based student entrepreneurs Jeff Postlethwaite and Adam Thompson, both currently completing degrees at the university’ business school.
Jeff said: “The last 12 months have been the most amazing experience and we’re very excited to finally open our first shop. It’s the result of a huge amount of planning and hard work over the last two years, and seeing it finished and open to customers is fantastic. Having Eorl here to help us open our doors for the first time was brilliant.”
The pair piloted the shop with a short stint at the Queensgate Market Hall and then secured financial backing from Huddersfield entrepreneur Richard Reed, co-founder of Innocent Drinks. Now they hope to follow the town shop with second and third outlets in other towns and cities.
