Huddersfield Grammar School provides an excellent standard of education according to its latest inspection report.

Situated in Luck Lane, Marsh, the school was judged to provide a high quality of education with an outstanding provision for pupils in the Kindergarten and Reception classes.

The curriculum has a number of outstanding features and a significant proportion of the teaching was found to be of outstanding quality.

Ofsted inspectors said excellent behaviour is founded on the school’s expectations of the pupils, and relationships at all levels, including those between teachers and pupils, are of a high quality.

Of the 399 pupils attending from the ages of three to sixteen, 33 of them are adjudged to be “able, gifted and talented.”

So many superlatives litter the report that the inspectors are hard pressed to find the slightest fault. The best they can come up with is a complaint about the storage for students’ bags which the authors say is “adequate in most parts of the school, but one locker area is untidy and of an inadequate standard.”

Headmaster Tim Hoyle said “I am delighted that the inspectors recognised the excellent work that is taking place at Huddersfield Grammar School.

“The combined efforts of pupils, parents and staff continue to ensure that the school is an exciting and inspiring place to learn and study. With many new developments for September 2014, we remain committed to providing a high quality of education for all ages.”
