A SUPPORT group is celebrating 20 years of helping people with heart conditions.

The Huddersfield Heartline Support Group was set up in 1990 to offer support to anyone who had experienced a heart attack and their families.

Over the years it has grown to have more than 250 members who have benefited from the knowledge of the group.

But the group has had to change its structure after failing to find a chairperson, secretary, treasurer and web monitor.

It’s meant committee members have had to instead form a management team.

They will continue to run activities such as cardiac exercise classes, dancing, bowling, walking, swimming and monthly social events.

Pam Ciceri, of Huddersfield Heartline Support Group, said: “Rehabilitation is still not provided consistently nationwide yet, but is well on the way and we are pleased with the amount of support not just Huddersfield but Yorkshire is now providing.

“We are delighted to have the future of Heartline in the capable hands of three longstanding members: Richard Brook, Brian Pinder and Colin Spruce.”

If you are interested in joining the group, it meets at Lindley Liberal Club on the first Tuesday of the month at 7.30pm.
