HOSPITAL staff baked tasty treats for charity after a co-worker’s health scare.
Staff from Huddersfield Royal Infirmary’s Ward 19 baked biscuits, buns and cakes to sell in the hospital to help raise £1,000 for Breast Cancer Care.
The stall was organised by healthcare assistant Dee Riley.
The Waterloo woman had a breast cancer scare last year when she found a lump in her breast that turned out to be a cyst.
She was so impressed with the care and support she received, she began a fundraising mission – with colleague Sandra Steele – to raise at least £1,000 for the charity.
The pair have already made £400 with a pink party in January. They are also planning a sponsored walk in June.
Dee said: “I’m thrilled that so many people have contributed to the stall and to the fundraising efforts.
“We’re planning to raise £1,000 for this worthwhile charity and I’m sure our target isn’t far away now.”
