A man from Huddersfield has died in hospital five days after being involved in an accident in Pakistan.

Abdul Wahab had gone on holiday with his family for Eid when he was involved in the motorbike accident in Lahore.

He suffered serious head injuries and died in hospital, five days after going into a coma.

Mr Wahab, who was also known as Mav Sharif, is thought to have been in his early 20s. He lived in Paddock, and went to Royds Hall High School, and is thought to have recently been working in London.

Until about two years ago, he used to work as a controller for AG Taxis in Blackmoorfoot Road, Huddersfield.

Manager Mohammed Azeem said: “He was such a nice lad, it’s very sad news.

“He was a hard working lad, and was well liked.

“He would come in and do his job, and kept himself to himself, but he was a popular lad and it’s very sad indeed.”

He said Abdul had gone on holiday with his mother and sisters. His father had stayed behind, but went out as soon as he heard about the accident.

His funeral took place last week, and the family is thought to still be in Pakistan.
