A MAN has appeared in court accused of flouting a ban on contacting his mother.

Wayne Carr, of Town Terrace in Leeds Road, was before Kirklees magistrates yesterday.

Magistrates in Huddersfield heard that the 27-year-old faces trial on April 2.

He is accused of assaulting his mother Jacqueline Tillotson and stealing a games console belonging to her.

Carr was banned from contacting Mrs Tillotson or going to her Berry Brow home as part of his bail conditions.

Paul Ramsay, prosecuting, said that he breached these conditions on February 13.

He said that Carr spent the night at the family home on Dodds Royd.

Carr then left the house the next day and stole an iPad, the prosecutor said.

But Carr denied the breach. He told his solicitor under oath that his mother had visited him to drop off his belongings.

Carr claimed that he had borrowed his mother’s iPad and not stolen it.

Magistrates found the bail breach not proved.

They released Carr on the same bail conditions as previously.
