COUNCILLORS will decide if a town centre nightclub can stay open until 6am.

Kenneth Anderson, who runs SIN at Queensgate, has asked Kirklees Council for a licence extension.

The nightclub – formerly known as Livingstone’s – is currently allowed to sell alcohol until 3am, with an hour of drinking-up time.

The council’s Licensing Panel will decide if the club can stay open and serve drink until 6am.

Maison Properties which runs the student flats at Wormalds Yard at King Street has written to the council objecting to the plan, claiming it would generate “totally unacceptable” levels of noise.

The Licensing Panel meets at Huddersfield Town Hall at 2pm on Tuesday.
