YOUNG fundraisers will help raise funds for an advice and counselling centre.

Volunteers from the XCEL youth group in Paddock are taking part in the Examiner Charity Challenge in aid of the Huddersfield Pregnancy Crisis Centre.

They will take part in the seven-mile walk from Meltham on May 17.

The young people signed up after attending a pasta party organised by the charity.

Centre manager Jo Naylor said: “There were about 40 people there and we told them about our organisation and about the Examiner Charity Challenge.”

The centre has taken part in the annual fundraiser since 2001.

Jo said: “It’s been a brilliant way for us to raise funds and raise awareness. Last year we collected £1,500.”

Huddersfield Pregnancy Crisis Centre offers free pregnancy tests and counselling to women who have had an abortion or a miscarriage. To help the centre call 01484 515 137.
