Former rocker turned comic Ian Seaburn is all smiles - after embarking on a new venture.

The Huddersfield-based stand up comedian used to tour the world as a member of the goth rock band Rhombus, before switching careers.

And he has now teamed up with fellow stand-up comedian Nicola James to form a double act.

Ian, who also runs the monthly Gonzo Comedy Club in Holmfirth, met Nicola while they were on the road touring as solo stand-up acts. They realisd they shared a weird sense of humour and began writing material together.

Now performing as James & Seaburn, the duo headed up to the Edinburgh Fringe, where they performed their hour long show ‘Piano Chocolat’ every day. The show is a mix of sketch comedy, stand-up and songs.

Since Edinburgh, they have performed regularly as a double act at comedy and cabaret nights around the country, and performed ‘Piano Chocolat’ in its entirety as part of The Greater Manchester Comedy Festival.

“We’ve had great fun performing shorter spots as a double act on mixed comedy bills, but we were especially excited about performing the whole show again,” said Ian.

As well as their regular gigging schedule and soon to be released podcast series, they are booked to appear at several more festivals including Dave’s Leicester Comedy Festival in February, and are writing a new show for next year’s Edinburgh Fringe.
