Huddersfield Royal Infirmary could be knocked down as part of a plan to 'downgrade' hospital services in the town.

The remaining services in Huddersfield will be housed across the road at Acre Mills while emergency care - including full A&E services - will be moved to Calderdale Royal Hospital, Halifax.

If the above hospital shake-up plan goes ahead a new 'planned care' unit will be built at Acre Mills, including 10 operating theatres.Health bosses today revealed their preferred option for the Right Care Right Time Right Place proposal which will be revealed to the public on Wednesday.

Another option was to house emergency services at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and have inpatient services at Calderdale Royal Hospital.
