MEMBERS of the Huddersfield Sikh community celebrated the festival of Vaisakhi in London.

They toured the House of Commons and met a number of Cabinet ministers and regional MPs.

Inderpal Singh Randhawa, one of the group, said: “Celebrating Vaisakhi in the Houses Parliament in Westminster was a very enjoyable experience.”

They were welcomed by the Leader of the House Harriet Harman, other cabinet ministers and local MPs Kali Mountford and Barry Sheerman.

“They went out of their way to chat to us and show us around Westminster.” said Mr Singh Randhawa.
