A KIRKLEES College catering student is going all out to raise funds for a cause that’s close to his heart.

He is hosting a charity curry night in aid of Huddersfield Royal Infirmary’s intensive care unit.

Jason Holmes, 19, from Holmfirth is studying a level 3 Advanced Diploma in Professional Cookery, specialising in pastry and confectionery at the college’s Huddersfield Centre.

Motivated by the way the intensive care unit looked after his uncle, Paul Chester, who sadly passed away last year, Jason has decided to give something back.

The event will be at the college’s Landings 72 restaurant, New North Road, on Friday, March 15.

The event will include an Asian inspired semi-buffet menu developed by Farhana Tasneem, another catering student on the course.

Jason said: “I wanted to run this charity event for the intensive care unit at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary because they looked after my uncle very well and stayed with him the whole time he was in intensive care.

“I would like to send all the money we get from the night to them.”

The meal is priced at £14.95 per head and reservations can be made to eat from 6.15pm to 7.15pm.
