A gang of five robbed a pizza delivery driver at knife-point to avoid paying for their £30 take-away.

The attack happened on College Street, Crosland Moor at half past midnight on Sunday.

The driver had been called to an address on the road with a food order but when he got out of his car, he was surrounded by five men.

One man held a large knife to his chest and demanded the food. Two of the others took the food from the driver and then all five ran off.

The man with the knife is described as white, aged 17-18 years and around five feet and 10 inches tall. He had a local accent and was wearing a dark blue cotton tracksuit, no gloves and had a hood over his face. The other four men are white and a similar age.

Det Con Andrew Clayton, of Huddersfield CID, said: “We would like to hear from anyone who saw this robbery or who may have seen the suspects running from the scene between 12.30am and 12.40am.”

They stole food worth £30 including two pizzas, four chicken burgers with chips and five cans of drink.

Enquiries at the given delivery address have found that the occupant did not order the food. If anyone has any information, contact Huddersfield CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
