A teenager from Huddersfield has been arrested after a stabbing in Blackpool.

The 18-year-old is in custody after police in the resort launched investigations into the incident last night.

Detectives are appealing for information after a 28-year-old man was found collapsed on Regent Road in Blackpool with stab wounds to his chest at around 9pm last night.

It is thought that the man was stabbed within or near to a residential address on Regent Road. He was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital where his condition is described as “serious but stable”.

Two men were witnessed running from the scene around the time of the incident.

The 18-year-old was arrested on suspicion of Section 18 wounding with intent and is currently in police custody.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to come forward.

Det Insp Gareth Willis from Blackpool CID said: “We are still trying to trace a second man who was seen running from the area where the victim was found.

“If anyone has any information or saw what happened, please call us or Crimestoppers anonymously.”
