Police confirm they are still looking for eight men after a violent brawl in Huddersfield.

They are being sought after the Bank Holiday fracas which put two men in hospital with serious injuries.

The police released the images on Friday and today said they still needed the public's help to identify them.

Detectives hope that the footage captured on CCTV cameras across the town centre will help them track down the people involved.

The incident happened about 3am on Monday, May 26 - Spring Bank Monday.

Police were called after two men were found with serious injuries on the floor at the junction of King Street and Queen Street.

Det Insp Jim Griffiths, of Huddersfield CID, said: “This was a large-scale disturbance involving at least 10 men.

“The two injured men both had serious injuries and were taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary . One was a 23-year-old local man and the other a 38-year-old Leeds man, who have since been released.

“This disturbance was captured on the town centre cameras and we now hope that people will recognise the people in the images”.

Police have urged those caught on camera to come forward and help with their inquiries.

Three people pictured in an earlier version of the gallery have been identified and are no longer part of the enquiry.

They have also asked any witnesses to contact police via 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
