HUDDERSFIELD Town hosted brave cancer patient Siobhan Greene at the weekend clash with Oldham.

The 41-year-old TV producer from Shelley was publicly praised before millions of TV viewers by X Factor supremo Simon Cowell when the programme won the award for best talent show at the National Television Awards.

He accepted the trophy – and then gave it straight to Siobhan.

She works for Cowell’s company Syco, a trading name for Simco Ltd which is the London-based entertainment company he set up nine years ago.

After she was diagnosed with breast cancer she carried on working despite undergoing radiotherapy.

Town fan Siobhan attended the game with her dad, Paddy, son Harry and nephew Harvey.

They had a meal before watching the game from the directors’ box.

Town chairman Dean Hoyle said: “It was a pleasure to meet Siobhan and her family at the weekend. She is a very inspirational woman who has achieved so much through adversity.

“Like many families, Saturday means football in the afternoon and X Factor in the evening. Me and the kids are massive fans.

“As a club we are always looking to recognise the achievements of local people.’’
