HUDDERSFIELD Town unveiled their latest “signing”.
And he’s a young man guaranteed to attract a whole new army of fans.
But sadly for Huddersfield’s young girls, Niall Horan was making only a fleeting visit to the club.
Niall is one of the five stars of top boyband One Direction and he dropped in at Town’s Canalside training complex yesterday as the players prepared for tonight’s big Championship match against Leicester City at the John Smith’s Stadium.
Niall, 19, shares a mutual friend with Town boss Simon Grayson.
And he is also friends with Town players Danny Ward and Jack Hunt.
Niall had his photo taken with Grayson and with players and watched them go through their training drills for two hours, before wishing them all the best for the match.
Yesterday, he and his band mates were all names in the Glamour magazine list of the world’s sexiest men.
One Direction’s Harry Styles was at 21 followed by his bandmates Zayn Malik (27), Niall (34), Louis Tomlinson (48) and Liam Payne (77).
Niall, who was brought up in County Westmeath, Ireland, joined the band in the 2010 X Factor contest and they finished third.
Now however, they are regarded as one of the world’s biggest-selling pop bands, selling millions of CDs with songs such as What Makes You Beautiful, Take Me Home and Live While We’re Young.
