BUSINESS students are set to feature on a new Dragon’s Den-style show.

Twists pasta bar, formerly known as Fasta Pasta, is to get its 15 minutes of fame on BBC3 show, Be Your Own Boss, tomorrow.

The show features Huddersfield-born Innocent Smoothie boss, Richard Reed, on the hunt for new entrepreneurial talent.

Reed has given £100 to 500 different start-up companies.

He then has to choose a handful to invest some of his own personal fortune in.

This week’s episode will feature the Queensgate Market based Twists pasta bar, and will see Reed joined by Sir Richard Branson as he tries to decide who to back.

Twists was founded by business studies duo Jeff Postlethwaite and Adam Thompson as part of their course last year.

The takeaway, which serves customised hot and cold pasta pots, launched in October last year and immediately became a big hit, selling more than 1,000 pot in its first week of trading.

It became so successful that the pair hired workers and a manager to run the store.

The Huddersfield students are the second group from the university to be featured on the show.

Last week, fellow Huddersfield business students, Jacob Hill and Andy Bray, were featured pitching their Lazy Camper festival kit business to the former Kirkheaton resident.

The duo impressed but did not manage to persuade Reed to invest in their company.

Be Your Own Boss airs at 9pm.
