Scores of students are set to descend on Huddersfield’s Kingsgate centre for a shopping expedition with a difference.
The retail complex is staging a Student Lock-In from 6pm to 9pm tomorrow following normal trading hours – to enable college and university students to bag some bargains.
The event is billed as the UK’s biggest student shopping event and is timed to coincide with the arrival of students to Huddersfield University as well as those attending local colleges.
Students will need a valid NUS card to get in – and Kingsgate managers have used social media to advise those who want to join the spending spree to pre-register to avoid queuing this evening.
A similar event held last year attracted more than a hundred students eager to take advantage of giveaways and discounts on items such as clothes, books, computer games and fashion accessories.
