Huddersfield's rush-hour captured in amazing time lapse film

Film-maker Roger Kinder filmed town's commuters heading for home

It's Huddersfield - but not as you have seen it before.

These are the scenes of thousands of Huddersfield people heading home after a hard day at work.

The time-lapse film was shot by Meltham film-maker Roger Kinder and it is already proving a big hit on social media.

His evocative shots of the Huddersfield Bus Station, the Railway Station, St George’s Square and the Ring Road capture the town in, quite literally, a new light.

“I had the idea last October, just as the clocks went back.

“We had enjoyed weeks and weeks of light evenings and then all of a sudden the evening was dark.

“I thought when I went out to film it that it would be quiet, but there turned out to be quite a lot of activity at the bus and rail stations and on the ring road.

“I was out in all weathers to get some of the shots but I’m delighted with the way it has turned out.

“I finished the final scenes, from Castle Hill, on Monday evening and then spent a few hours doing the editing”.
