HUNDREDS of people packed Holmfirth Parish Church for the funeral of teenager Huw Thatcher.

It was standing room only as friends, family and football contacts came to remember the 15-year-old.

Many were dressed in football shirts for what was described as a celebration of his life.

Huw died from a brain aneurysm he suffered as he played for Hepworth United Juniors in a game against Brighouse Town Juniors on Sunday March 13.

His coffin was carried into the church by relatives and friends to the song You'll Never Walk Alone.

After the service, mourners went to the Picturedrome, where an array of tributes has been collected in Huw's memory.
