YORKSHIRE Water is scouring the region in search of a new local talent.

The company wants to find a Tyke to become the voice of the company.

He or she will have the opportunity to record messages for Yorkshire Water, be heard by about 4.7m customers and win a prize.

On top of this they will get the chance to feature on the Yorkshire Water website alongside some of the region's favourite celebrities, including model Nell McAndrew and broadcasters John Craven and Harry Gration, by recording their very own reservoir walk podcast.

Customers who think they have what it takes to fulfil this role and want to be in with a chance of winning the recording contract are invited to call the Yorkshire Water hotline, 08451 202863, leave their name, address, contact phone number and record the following Yorkshire saying:

“Hear all, see all, say nowt. Eat all, sup all, pay nowt. And if tha ever does owt for nowt, allus do it for thisen.”

It translates as “Hear all, see all, say nothing. Eat all, drink all, pay nothing and if you ever do anything for nothing always do it for yourself.”

The top five entrants will make it through to the grand final, where customers will be encouraged to go online and vote for their favourite voice.

The closing date for all entries is midnight next Thursday.
