A GANG of thugs armed with a knife and a stick mugged a man in Dalton.

Now Huddersfield CID are appealing for witnesses to the robbery on Rawthorpe Terrace, which happened on April 10.

It was at 3.50pm that a 24-year old man was walking alone along Rawthorpe Terrace, on a footpath across a grassy area, when he came across four men, one of who was holding a long stick.

The suspect with the stick stopped the man and demanded the victim’s cash and phone.

The victim refused to hand over anything but then another of the suspects produced a knife.

The thugs walked off towards Rawthorpe Lane, leaving the victim shaken but otherwise unharmed.

The suspects were four white men all between 5ft 4ins and 6ft tall and in their late teens to early twenties.

One had ginger stubble down both sides of his face, but none on his chin or around his mouth. He had a white coloured diamond earring and wore a black Adidas Baseball cap and a black Umbro zip-up hooded top.

The suspect with the knife was of medium build, had a mole or birth mark on his right cheek and was missing a front tooth. He was wearing dark blue Nike Baseball cap, a black and grey chequered hooded top and black tracksuit bottoms.

A third suspect was chubby, had wispy hair on his face and wore black jeans, a black hooded top and a plain black Baseball cap.

The fourth suspect wore a blue Reebok Baseball cap and a dark coloured, woolly coat.

Any witnesses or anyone with information is now being asked to contact Det Con Peter Usher at Huddersfield CID via 101.
