Ice cream sellers could scoop a brilliant deal – the right to sell in a host of Kirklees’ parks.

The council has tenders up for grabs to sell in 16 different locations around the borough.

Licences to sell ice-cream have historically only been used at three parks – Greenhead, Wilton and Oakwell Hall.

But the council has said it is now looking to widen the opportunities for suppliers by offering more places to sell.

The two year deals are available at the following locations:

  • Dewsbury Country Park
  • Dewsbury’s Crow Nest Park (x2)
  • Sands Recreation Area in Holmfirth
  • Victoria Tower at Castle Hill
  • Ings Grove Park at Mirfield
  • Sands Lane Playing Fields at Earlsheaton
  • Earlsheaton Park
  • Firth Park at Heckmondwike
  • Mirfield Memorial Park
  • Overthorpe Park at Thornhill
  • Royds Park at Cleckheaton
  • Bradley Park at Bradley
  • Rectory Park at Thornhill
  • Marsden Park
  • Beaumont Park
  • Ravensknowle Park.

The council said it was looking for any supplier who could meet its credentials.

Applications are invited from either vans or mobile kiosks.
