CHILDREN at an Elland nursery have created a giant sunflower mural, thanks to the help of a national author and illustrator.
James Mayhew helped youngsters at Elland private day nursery at Northgate create the massive work of art to adorn nursery walls.
His visit was a prize for the nursery. It won first prize in the National Day Nurseries Association Sunflower Challenge.
The challenge encouraged youngsters to grow sunflowers and raise money for the charity WaterAid.
The mural prize was for the nursery raising the most cash.
The Elland nursery raised more than £600 in sponsorship for the charity, which provides safe domestic water, sanitation and hygiene to the world's poorest children in Africa and Asia.
