TWO wards at Calderdale Royal Hospital remain closed today after a winter bug outbreak. Admissions to medical wards 1 and 4 are still being restricted at the Halifax site after patients were struck down with symptoms including vomiting and diarrhoea. The Examiner reported on Tuesday how a total of four wards - one of them surgical - had been closed to new patients. Today hospital officials confirmed wards 2 and 5 had been reopened. Patients were also reassured that the outbreak was under control. A spokeswoman for Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Trust thanked visitors for their co-operation.
