A MAN badly hurt in a fracas outside a pub three weeks ago remains critically ill in hospital.

But father-of-one Lee Massey has shown a slight improvement at Leeds General Infirmary.

Police said today they were still seeking people in connection with the investigation.

Mr Massey - who plays with amateur rugby league side Dewsbury Celtic - suffered serious head injuries when he was in collision with a car when trouble erupted between two groups of men.

The incident happened in the car park of the Royal Hotel in Huddersfield Road, Ravensthorpe, on Sunday, October 12.

Mr Massey, 30, had been in the intensive care ward but has now been moved to a high dependency unit.

A police spokeswoman said: "We have now arrested 13 men.

"They have all been released on police bail pending further forensic and identification inquiries. Other people are still being sought."

Two men were also stabbed during the trouble. They went home after hospital treatment.

The trouble involved a group of white and a group of Iraqi men.
